Fetterman Urges Democrats to Reopen Government, Says Shutdown Sends ‘Wrong Message’

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) said Democrats sent the wrong signal by allowing a government shutdown, arguing that Congress should reopen the government and negotiate health care policy. 

“I can’t ever or will ever vote to shut our government down,” Fetterman told Fox News.

 

“It was wrong if the Republicans did these things, and I led that charge back in March, saying it’s wrong to shut us down, and we kept it open. I said in March that when September comes, I’m going to be the one guy that says it’s wrong to do this. The losers are these poor Americans here that are going to get caught in the middle of this thing.” 

Appeals Court Unanimous in Pivotal Ruling on Undated or Misdated Mail-in Ballots

The ruling orders Pennsylvania to honor mail-in ballots that are undated or misdated.

The Republican National Committee was dealt a blow by a unanimous decision of the Third Circuit Appeals Court in the RNC's effort to discard undated and misdated ballots in Pennsylvania.

The three-judge panel said in the 55-page ruling that the affected ballots needed to be counted and failing to do so was unconstitutional. Pennsylvania voters are required to write the date on the envelope for their mail-in ballots.

'Discarding thousands of ballots every election is not a reasonable trade-off in view of the date requirement's extremely limited and unlikely capacity to detect and deter fraud.'

"The date requirement imposes a burden on Pennsylvanians' constitutional right to vote," the court ruling reads. "And it culminates in county election boards discarding thousands of ballots each time an election is held. The date requirement will not protect against the vast majority of attempts at voter fraud."

The Trump assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania yesterday has spawned all sorts of gossip, theory, and opinions, mixed with a wee bit of fact.

Before we dive in, here is the footage of the attempt, caught live and streamed to the world.

President Trump was injured when the bullet grazed his ear. If he hadn’t turned his head at exactly the right moment, we’d be talking about his funeral. A person behind the former president was shot and died immediately. Two other rallygoers were wounded.

UPDATE: The deceased victim was identified as Corey Comperetore, a retired fire chief who died heroically shielding his two daughters with his own body.

HB 2033 to Legalize Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia Introduced to 2019-2020 Session

On November 14, 2019, HB 2033, seeking to legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia was introduced in the House for the 2019/2020 session.

On the same day the bill was referred to the House Judiciary Committee.
